The Grand Budapest Hotel is a comedy film from Wes Anderson which was Directed by him and also produced by him with Jeremy Dawson, Steven Rales and Scott Rudin. The story was inspired by the writings of Stefan Zweig. It also had a very large cast of many very good actors though it mainly focuses around Ralph Fiennes and Tony Revolori characters. The film had a budget of $25,000,000 and had made $59,000,000 with also winning four Oscars for it's music, costume, make up andset design. The reason this had won these awards is because of the incredible Misc en scene.
This film is very particular about it's misc en scene for example the colour patterns used on screen. The Grand Budapest has a purple colour scheme while for example the police in the film use the colour gray. The use of this is to give the film a certain style and to also to help the audience identify who is part of what group within the film and the relationships in the film.
Another technique what is used within the film is also the cinematography. This is all done it precise movements. The purpose of this is to demonstrate how up straight they are in the hotel how everything is set to a perfect standard. This also can allow for it to be used in comedic terms as often in the film with such precise actions with the camera it allows for less than formal actions to take place and that clash makes it comic.

Children of men
Children of men is a 2006 film within the genre of science fiction and drama. It has the themes of anarchy, trust and belief. It stars Clive Owens, Micheal Caine and Julianne Moore. The film film had a budget of $76 million and made $70 million back however has received very good reviews. The film was directed by Alfonso Cuaron produced by Hilary Shor, Iain Smith, Tony Smith, Marc Abraham and Eric Newman, the film was based on the book from P.D James. The film had been nominated for 3 Oscars these being writing, cinematography and editing.
This film is set in the near future a way the film communicates this apart from having it in text is by using the set. For example the vehicles in this world are slightly different as a lot of them are fitted with a steel grating around them saying that it isn't safe clearly. Another way they use the misc en scene to make the world seem grim is that there is a constant advertisement for a suicide kit what is bright in contrast to everything else meaning that this is world where suicide is deemed to be a good thing and is encouraged.
The cinematography is a another way they demonstrate the different atmospheres. In areas where it's relaxed a wide of colours are used showing that the world still has a lot in it in the form of hope and a future. While in more depressing segments the colour gray is very dominant on screen which is often seen as being as miserable and oppressive colour.
One of the films key themes is trust as the trust between different characters is something that constantly changes. Some turn from being entrusting of others to relying on them while others trust them then turn to hiding away. At the very last moment there is still a question of trust a Theo still is questing so that when the film ends it's even more open ended as without what he says it would have been open but with very little doubt however with just a few words performed as well as they are it puts a large amount of doubt into our minds.

Favourite Director/Film/Genre
My personal favorite director is Quentin Tarantino. The reasoning behind this is that I enjoy the extremes goes to in his language and violence. I feel that he's constantly pushing what can be done within films. This obviously comes with it's controversial moments however I like the fact he just brushes them off..
My personal favorite film is "Tropic Thunder"(2008). I love this film mainly for it's comedy and for it's action. Like Tarantino it uses a blend of both action and comedy however a difference is that in Tarantino's films they have more of a calmed tone and slower pacing to create a more atmospheric affect. I enjoy the slap stick comedy that is in the film. I feel that this is done using different affects such as changing the filters on the screen as it shows how they turn from acting in the film to being themselves within the film.
My favorite genre is action however I also like comedies as well as a close second. I enjoy these as they have so much going on and shows a world and experiences that I'll never see or have. It creates escapism which some audience do search for when they go to watch a film. Often Quentin Tarantino's films fall into this genre due to their excessive and comedic violence.
